  • The Copper Bookmarks are ready for Las Vegas Artist Guild Gallery

    Las Vegas Artist Guild Display
Las Vegas Artist Guild Display of Copper Bookmarks

My idea about how to show off what I can do with copper patina will be on diplayed at Las Vegas Artist Gallery next week. Copper is quite soft metal to work with and the patina can be from a deep purple, bark blue to a turquois. The piece that goes in to the book is made from hammer copper, this helps harden it so it’s harder to bend. The feather has been pressed and hammered in to shape but still can be bent. My artist side of me likes a feather to act like a feather, light and delicite. So please treat the feather as a feather made out copper by a artist. The entire piece has been laquered to seal the color.

Thank you Terry Pratchett I used a portion of your book Wee Free Men.

They will go to Las Vegas Artist Guild Gallery. I don’t make prints anymore I’d rather spend my time painting not cropping images.

Im not on ” Social Media ” any more, my WordPress Blog post on all platforms to display my art work.

  • Sunrise in the canyon

    Sunrise in the canyon

“Sunrise in the canyon” is a watercolor painting 36” long and 16” high. When I painted I didn’t think it would be hard to frame. I orders a frame last month it’s still not here. Yesterday morning I pulled out some teak I found last year on the side of road and some trim wood from the garage. I have a Matt cutter and Matt board from when I was a landscape photographer. Last night the frame had two coats of stain on it. A artist is not payed by the hour.
You can see my painting April 12 to May 16 at the Las Vegas Artist Guild Gallery at the Galleria Mall Henderson NV.

  • First break

First break at Las Vegas Artists Guilds gallery. The oil painting’s cloth is still in the ugly stag. I really don’t copy my photos. The painting will tell a simple story.

  • Oil can on truck rim got some highlights and shadows

I put “Oil can on truck rim” back up on the easel for shadows and highlights. It made it have more depth. It’s a 8″ x 10″ oil painting done here at Las Vegas Artists Guilds gallery at the Galleria Mall.

  • Old truck is back for highlights and shadows

Old truck needed highlights and shadows. It looked flat it needed another layer of oil paint to push the house back. I’m at the gallery until 9 today. Then back next Tuesday 1:00 to 9:00

  • The art work is changed out at the gallery

There is some beautiful art at the Las Vegas Artists Guilds gallery. A all volunteer crew hung a gallery full of local artists. The tables and the glass cases are full of more paintings, ceramics and prints.

The gallery is open 10 am to 9 pm with volunteers working behind the Desk

I can get lost in my art work, as I add layers of color, and adding depth and texture to my art.
